The inspiration for the Youngor Fashion Concept Store came from the original building at the construction site - a half sphere with a glass facade. Zee completely transformed the interior, creating an umbrella-shaped core tube in the center. This design, featuring random perforation, offers both sufficient natural light and a desirable light-shadow effect, organically connecting different spaces within the building.
One of the unique properties of this design is its ability to highlight the uniqueness of Youngor's various sub-brands while bringing them together in a harmonious manner. This is achieved through the use of different materials and design approaches, creating an impressive shopping experience for consumers.
Green materials that can grow by themselves or be recycled, such as metal mesh, plaited bamboo, and terrazzo, were used extensively in the construction of the store. This, along with the application of luminescent films to simulate natural light, creates an environment that is as close to nature as possible.
The project covers a total of 5000 square meters, with stairways arranged on two sides of the steps. This separates the Thin and Light Sports collection on Level 1 from the more commercial and high-end space for brands Mayor and Hanp on Floor 2. The VIP lounge, cafe, Youngor Garment Museum, VR Experience Room, and Children's Play Area featured in the space are a breakthrough compared with traditional Chinese stores, making Youngor Fashion Concept Store not just an O2O experience center, but also a VIP service center, and a communication center that spreads Younger's fashion culture.
The project started in February 2018 in Torino and finished in August 2019 in Rimini. It was a response to the quiet penetration of new retail into people's lifestyle, with Youngor Group teaming up with JFR Studio to present Youngor Fashion Concept Store. The project was intended to reshape Youngor's brand image, and it certainly achieved that, winning the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020.
Jeffrey Zee's Youngor Fashion Concept Store is a shining example of innovative design and sustainable construction. It is a testament to Zee's creative prowess and commitment to sustainable design, and a worthy winner of the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020.
